Find out why QuickBooks won't reconcile — in 60 seconds.
Upload your QBO export and your bank statement. LedgerDiff names the exact transactions causing duplicates, the exact ones keeping your account out of balance, and the exact clicks to fix each one inside QuickBooks — before you spend another evening scrolling the register by eye.
No login to QuickBooks or your bank. No account required to see your results. Your books never leave your browser.
The acute problem
This happens while you're already paying for QuickBooks.
Bank feeds disconnect, reconnect, and re-import what you already entered by hand. The register stops tying out. Support calls don't fix it. The complaints below are paraphrased from public reviews of QuickBooks Online — each was re-verified against the live review page during our research. Links go to each platform’s review listing (which paginates, so the original review may take scrolling to find).

How it works
Three steps. Nothing installed, nothing connected.
LedgerDiff reads the export files you already know how to make. No OAuth, no bank login, no QuickBooks password — ever.
Upload your files
Drop in your QuickBooks transaction export (CSV) and your bank or card statement (CSV). Add an Amazon Seller Central settlement report if you sell on Amazon — optional. Files stay on your device; nothing uploads to a server.
Confirm the columns
LedgerDiff auto-detects date, amount, description, and payee columns from common QBO and bank export formats. Review its guesses and override any dropdown before analysis runs — nothing is assumed silently.
Get a report you can act on
A severity-ordered list of duplicates, missing transactions, and amount mismatches — each with plain-language, click-by-click QuickBooks fix steps. Print it, or download it as a standalone HTML file to hand to a bookkeeper.
What it finds
Five specific things break reconciliation. LedgerDiff checks all five.
Every finding in the report carries step-by-step instructions for exactly what to click inside QuickBooks to resolve it.
Duplicate transactions in QuickBooks
Same amount, dates within a few days, similar payee or description — including the classic manual-entry-plus-bank-feed-reimport signature and double-imported feed transactions.
Register vs. statement matching
Every QuickBooks transaction matched against your bank statement — exact match first, then close-date match, then fuzzy description match — so you know what actually ties out.
Transactions missing from QuickBooks
Items on your bank statement that never made it into QuickBooks at all — the gaps a bank feed disconnect leaves behind.
Transactions missing from your bank
Items entered in QuickBooks that never show up on the statement — often stale manual entries or voided items that were never cleaned up.
Amount mismatches
Same date, same payee, different amount — the transposed-digit and missing-cents typos that quietly break a reconciliation until someone hunts them down by hand.
Amazon settlement diff (optional)
If you sell on Amazon, upload your Seller Central settlement report and LedgerDiff checks whether the deposit ties to your settlement total, line by line — including the one fee that often doesn't match.
Privacy architecture
Your books never leave your browser.
This isn't a policy promise — it's how the product is built. There is no server that receives your financial data, because your financial data is never sent anywhere — all parsing and analysis happen locally, in your browser tab.
- ✓ All parsing and analysis run as JavaScript in your browser tab, on your device.
- ✓ No OAuth connection to QuickBooks or your bank — you never hand over a login.
- ✓ No financial row data is written to a server, a database, or your browser's local storage.
- ✓ Reloading the page clears everything in memory — there is nothing left to delete.
- ✓ The report you download is generated locally on your device; no financial data is ever sent to a server.
Compare this to Keeper, A2X, or Synder — every one of them requires an OAuth connection into your QuickBooks or bank account. LedgerDiff structurally can't, because it never asks.

FAQ
Straight answers.
Why not just use Intuit's own AI? Doesn't QuickBooks already do this?
QuickBooks' AI-enabled bank feeds are real and free — they run inside the "For Review" screen, suggest a category or match while a transaction is coming in, and group high-confidence items for one-click posting. That's genuinely useful, and we're not claiming otherwise. What it doesn't do is look backward: it never diffs your whole register against an actual bank statement you hold, and it doesn't produce a report of everything already wrong across months of transactions. It's forward-looking, one transaction at a time — not a retrospective audit. LedgerDiff is the report Intuit's categorization AI doesn't generate: every duplicate and every out-of-balance transaction, named, cross-checked against your real statement, with the fix steps attached.
Is my data safe?
LedgerDiff never asks for your QuickBooks or bank login. You upload the CSV files you already exported yourself, and every bit of parsing and analysis runs as JavaScript inside your own browser tab — your financial data and transaction rows are never sent to a server, never written to a database, and cleared from memory the moment you reload. The only things that ever leave your browser are an anonymous, cookieless count of funnel steps (a visit, a scan, a purchase — nothing about your files) and, if you buy a report, your Stripe payment. The report you download is built locally as a file, the same way a spreadsheet app builds a file on your own machine.
What exports do I need, and where do I get them?
Two files, minimum. QuickBooks Online: go to Reports → Transaction List by Date (or Account History for a single account), set your date range, and click Export to Excel/CSV. Bank or card statement: log into your bank's website, open the account, and look for Download or Export near the transaction list — choose CSV if it's offered (not PDF). Optional — Amazon: in Seller Central, go to Reports → Payments → Date Range Reports and generate a settlement report. LedgerDiff's column-mapping step tells you which formats it auto-detects and lets you correct any column it guesses wrong.
Will this change anything inside QuickBooks?
No. LedgerDiff only reads the files you upload and produces a report — it never connects to QuickBooks, never deletes or re-matches anything, and never writes anything back. Every finding comes with plain-language instructions for what to click yourself, so you stay in control of every change to your books.
Who is this for?
Mainly the owner or office manager running their own QuickBooks Online books at a small business — 1 to 25 employees, no dedicated accounting department — whose bank feed just broke or whose register won't tie out. It's also used by solo bookkeepers as a first-pass triage tool at the start of a cleanup engagement, and by Amazon sellers who need their settlement deposits to tie out to QuickBooks. It is not a practice-management platform and doesn't try to replace tools like Keeper for ongoing multi-client bookkeeping.
What's your refund policy?
Full refund within 7 days if your One-Time Full Report comes back with zero findings, or if your file hits an unsupported-format block (multi-currency and QuickBooks Desktop exports aren't supported in v1 and are flagged before you're charged for the full report). LedgerDiff's detectors are deterministic and explainable, but a few finding types are intentionally hedged rather than asserted with certainty — for example, a "possible duplicate" flagged without a source signature, or a transaction marked "possible transfer — verify" — and the report says so plainly wherever that applies. If something in your report looks wrong, email us before requesting a refund; most issues are a column-mapping fix, not a bad report.
